Celebrating 25 Years of Dedication: Theresa’s Journey as a Direct Support Professional at Everas

Theresa has been a dedicated Direct Support Professional at the Lakeview Group Home since 1999, proudly marking her 25th anniversary with Everas Community Services. A devoted mother of three, Theresa describes herself as calm, patient, and a people person. Outside work, she dedicates herself to raising her children, cooking, and tending to her home garden.

Since embarking on this journey as a DSP, Theresa has had the unique experience of growing alongside the individuals she has supported. All of the individuals at Lakeview have lived together for as long as Theresa has worked at Everas. Throughout her tenure, Theresa has shared countless cherished memories with the residents from Lakeview Group Home, who are now part of her extended family.

The value of Theresa’s commitment to the people in our Lakeview Group Home cannot be understated. Twenty-five years of consistency fosters deep trust and meaningful connections that make a profound difference in the lives of people with IDD. The strongest relationships are built over time and outcomes for people are dramatically improved when they are supported by someone who knows them well. Long-term DSPs are more likely to notice subtle changes in health and behavior, leading to earlier intervention and better health outcomes for the individuals they support. Especially in cases where the condition of IDD impacts communication skills, longevity in the role of a direct care person is vital.

Everas is proud of and filled with gratitude for Theresa’s 25 years of service. We are happy to celebrate this milestone and congratulate and thank her for her dedication to our mission and to the women she supports at Lakeview Group Home.
