24 Jun Looking Ahead to 2015
In the ever changing landscape of services for people with disabilities, it is more important than ever to keep an eye on the big picture. At Everas Community Services we recognize the value in taking time to reflect on our past and work together to plan for our future.
Each year, managers, directors and board members come together for Everas’s annual agency retreat. At our most recent retreat this May, we had a lot to celebrate. Everas has experienced exceptional growth this year. Through the acquisition of several new programs, we have been able to expand our services and grow as an organization. This would not have been possible if not for the hard work, dedication and collaborative spirit of our employees.
Our retreat kicked off first thing in the morning followed by department presentations of this past year’s operational goals in review. Next, our guest speaker Terry Seamon coached us on the finer points of leadership. His lecture helped us ground ourselves in our core values and guiding principles before undertaking the next part of the retreat: future planning. In cross-functional groups, we devised new and ambitious goals for each department that address the challenges we face as an organization and keep us on track for more growth moving forward.
As this fiscal year comes to a close on June 30, we have finalized our goals and objectives for 2015. Here are a few of the highlights from our operational plans:
- Human Resources will be taking on the new year with a two-pronged effort that will both increase recruitment and improve retention.
- Employment Services is looking outward to find new business opportunities and expand its programs to develop jobs and training for people with disabilities.
- Residential Services is continuing to ensure quality care for our clients is the number one priority during the transition to fee-for-service.
- Finance and IT will be supporting all of the departments through updated technology and systems to meet the challenges associated with fast paced growth and new funding system.
We are incredibly excited to see what this next year holds for us, and we are grateful to have such a passionate team of professionals helping us achieve our mission.
